The Faculty of Prescribing and Medicines Management (FPMM) was established in March 2001 and is a distinct, semi-autonomous professional body within the College of Pharmacy Practice (http://www.collpharm.org.uk/). It provides professional support for pharmacists in the UK, from any professional background, who are interested and /or working in the specialist area of prescribing and medicines management.

Working through an elected Board, to a formal constitution, the Faculty supports and promotes the personal and professional development of its members through a wide range of activities for the benefit of patients and health care provision. These include tailored training and development based on your needs, peer support and review, practice research, and accreditation.

The Faculty Board have produced General Level and Advanced and Consultant Level Frameworks, developed and validated by the Competency Development and Evaluation Group (CoDEG) and adopted by the Department of Health.

The faculty has an active and increasing membership from around the UK, and from all areas of professional practice.

The faculty will continue to provide a strong professional support structure for UK pharmacists working or with an interest in prescribing and medicines management and above all endeavour to help individuals meet their own aspirations.
